Photos From the layout
We began constructing the Santa Fe and Saguaro Flats Railroad during the winter of 1996, shortly after we moved back to the "Great White North" from Arizona.   We knew we'd miss the scenery of the American Southwest, so we incorporated it into our layout.  Any time we need a 'fix," we open the door to the garage and "get away on the Santa Fe."

Our imaginary line is intended to depict scenery and locations one might encounter while driving through Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and California.   On our line you will see Santa Fe, Southern Pacific, Denver & Rio Grand, and Arizona - California locomotives.  Occasionally a visiting "ghost from the past" will steam through as well.

You'll find railroad stations and towns with names like Saguaro Flats, Palm Mesa, Chaparral Butte, Twin Peaks, Elk Mountain, Whiskey Flats, Brewery Hill, and Anasazi Cliffs.  You decide what year you want it to be.  Will the layout ever be finished?  Who knows?  Model Railroad layouts are the things dreams are made of!
